What brake lining does
Brake lining is the friction layer bonded or riveted to a brake shoe. It is where the stopping actually happens, so it is one of the most important components of any braking system and needs reliable, safe and consistent materials.

The asbestos-free, rigid moulded high-friction (FF) material has excellent physical strength and superior cross-braking, shear, tensile and rivet-holding performance compared with non-Kevlar moulded material. The non-asbestos AF-999 grade has excellent wear characteristics and is compatible with mating surfaces.
